Tapasvi
Their profile:
Tapasvi has been practicing Yoga for over fifteen years. His serious interest in Yoga began once he was exposed to the wisdom and clarity of the Satyananda tradition. Tapasvi was very fortunate to have Jean Lavers as his BWY diploma course tutor. Jeans’ teaching is heavily influenced by the work of the Vivekananda Foundation in Bangalore, an organisation dedicated to the practice of Yoga therapy and the development of Yoga as a tool for healing.
In 2007 Tapasvi completed a further teacher training course in Satyananda Yoga. Tapasvi has taught Yoga in a variety of settings and with a wide variety of people. He has taught in adult education, schools, offices and gyms. He has taught in a retirement home for the elderly, and currently works with the ‘Healthy Living Partnership’ in North Sheffield. He has worked with the first team footballers at Sheffield Wednesday Football Club.
Tapasvi has had long term health problems and has found Yoga to be an uplifting and essential tool for the maintenance of a reasonably active life. As a teacher he has seen the huge impact that Yoga can have on the quality of life of those who practice it.
