Jayadhara attended her first Yoga class whilst at university in 1977, and her interest grew as she worked with many teachers and in a variety of styles.

She completed a BWY Diploma course and began teaching in 1988. In 1996 she enrolled on a Yoga Certificate course at the Bihar School of Yoga in India where she met her guru, and in 1999 went on to complete an MA in Yoga Philosophy. Following this, she has repeatedly offered service to Sivananda Math projects working to uplift village people in the surrounding areas. She was course director for the first Yogic Studies course offered by Satyananda Yoga Academy Europe and is a BWY Diploma Course Tutor.

Passionate about making all aspects of yoga and ancient wisdom accessible to everyone, she has devised and run several yoga personal development courses open to all levels of experience. She has a particular interest in the field of mental health and her regular classes are in the Easingwold, York and Thirsk areas.
